More space for applied research
At the Nuremberg Nordostpark site, the existing building ensemble of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits will be expanded to include a new building and a multi-storey car park. Its research focus is on localization, navigation and networking. For applied research and the development of microelectronic systems and devices, the new building now has additional space for offices, seminar rooms and laboratories. A glass corridor connects the new building with the main building.

The floor plan concept provides maximum flexibility in the room layout. Therefore, the walls are predominantly designed as non-load-bearing partition walls, which can be arranged variably. All rooms are grouped around the green inner courtyard and are illuminated naturally throughout. On the courtyard side are the measurement, regulation and lecture rooms. Along the outer facade, the offices are housed. On the ground floor, next to the foyer, there is a lecture and training room.
